night owl turns early bird

I have a very broken school schedule. Other days I'd have class everyday for five days a week, some days I'll have just two classes in one week or just clinicals. This is the reason why I became a night owl. I'd have the luxury of time to be up all night and sleep just before the crack of dawn. I'd wake up with a throbbing headache around noon and when this cycle goes on, it becomes a very bad habit to break. This bad sleeping habit took a toll on me on clinical day. On early morning clinicals, I wake up at 3AM to be at the hospital at 6AM. One day I had a really hard time going to sleep early so come 3AM, I was still wide awake. Since I'd be running late if I tried to sleep, I got ready and headed straight to the hospital running on zero sleep. I got dizzy that morning and my skin was cold and clammy despite eating breakfast that morning. That was when I had a wake up call that I have to get sleep no matter what especially for clinicals because I have to stay alert.

But lately I've been sleeping well because I go to bed earlier than I used to and I wake up no later than 9am. It actually feels good to start the day early because I feel more productive that way. Plus, helping my mother run errands and driving her around makes me feel that I'm not being useless anymore while I wait to finish with my second degree. I enjoy waking up to the chirping of birds outside my bedroom window, I enjoy feeling cold as I wake up and thinking about breakfast, and most of all, I enjoy sipping a mug of hot coffee as I check my emails.

I've always known that I am a morning person, a morning person with a whacked out body clock. But now it may have already been fixed unintentionally. Although the hardest part of mornings is waking up, the welcoming of a new day is always the best part.

teacher's pet

Sorry, I can't get over myself...BUT I'M A STAR STUDENT AT MY DRIVING SCHOOL! Haha! I'm so happyyyy! Well, they don't have star student ranking or whatever but my instructor today was the best instructor they have and he said he wanted to observe if what he heard was true-- that I was a fast learner and that I was already a good driver.

He made me go through tests like the tunnel going to Quezon Avenue from Quezon City Circle because it's always traffic there and it's not just traffic but HANGING TRAFFIC. And he said he only brings the best students there and guess what? I FRICKIN' PASSED HIS HANGING TEST! And he said he was also impressed by me because I AM SO READY to drive on my own. Isn't that awesome? I still have five more hours to go (I took the five hours extra because I thought I needed it) but it's okay, at least when I drive on my own I'll be really ready. He tested my parking skills and reverse driving and both where "Highly Satisfactory", now all I need to do is practice like crazy because I still think my parking needs a LOT OF PRACTICE just for confidence on my part.

Papa already made me agree to pick him up from the airport when he comes home for my sister's wedding. I still have a couple of months to practice. So...GO ME!

Now, isn't Alej glad he has a new driver now? You bet he is! HAHA! I keep complaining how he rarely visits me on Fridays and he keeps complaining about the Friday traffic. He drives manual as well and now I understand why he keeps whining about horrible traffic. It's tiring to drive stick!

Now, my next mission is to ask my sister if I can take the CRV for a spin on Saturday! XD

I'm surprised by how easy it is to learn how to drive. I don't know why I didn't do this sooner.

first blog for 2008

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

Yesterday I received the best New Year's message ever from the greatest writer to ever walk the planet, Neil Gaiman:

"May your 2008 be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you're wonderful.
And don't forget to make some art: write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can.
And I hope somewhere next year you surprise yourself."

Anything he says is MAGIC. I hope he knows that. This quote just totally made my day yesterday because it's exactly the way I want to live this year and all the other years ahead.

This is pretty late. Haha! Hey look! It's my first post for 2008! Four years of blogging. WOW.

Anyway, my New Year was well spent with family and friends. On New Year's eve it was with family (Tito Ninong, Tito John, Tito Boyce, Mommy and Daddy) and then after Medya Noche it was with friends (Rad, Hans, Egy, and Erica and Alej too). So yeah. We had our annual fire works "competition" against that big yellow house across the street. And WE WON THIS YEAR! HAHA! It was so much fun. The not-so fun part was when some of the flakes from the fireworks got into my left eye. I had to run into the house I was so scared I'd go blind or something.

And then on New Year's Day Kuya John's parents invited Alej and I to their celebration/family dinner. It was fun especially after that when we went to BF Paranaque and food-tripped on Hot Shots cheeseburger and potato wedges and then shawarma after. Whew. The holidays. It was all about eating!

Can't Stop Christmas

My father and I email each other regularly. In one of our emails, I mentioned how I don't feel that it's Christmas yet. It's the same over there in Brazil, he said. The common denominator of our sad Christmas feeling is that we're not together as a family for Christmas. They're over there SO FAR FAR FAR AWAY and well, Christmas isn't really "merry" without your loved ones around.

It's a sad Christmas for us but then I remembered Martin Nievera's song, "Can't Stop Christmas", which happens to be my most favorite Christmas song ever because of how realistic the message the lyrics send out. We can't stop Christmas no matter how crappy our situation is. No matter how far away our loved ones are, no matter how many misfortunes have hit us, no matter how sad our dispositions are...WE JUST CAN'T STOP CHRISTMAS.

Like I said before, Christmas isn't entirely about PEOPLE. It's about the birth of Jesus anyway. And wherever we are right now, I think we should be able to make the most out of what we have. In my family's case, we should be thankful that we're together and even if my parents are far away we should be thankful that we're together as a family and that we have a whole lot of love that can be felt even from a million miles away.

It's cheesey but maybe we can have them in our hearts this Christmas and there's the beauty of the internet to share pictures with, chat, or call for long conversations...CHRISTMAS SHOULD BE IN OUR HEART and that's how we're going to spend it. THERE SHOULD BE NO ROOM FOR MELANCHOLY. JUST PURE JOY AND GRATITUDE BECAUSE WE HAVE THE GIFT OF HAVING EACH OTHER AS A FAMILY.

Enjoy the song!

This is my most favorite Christmas song ever.

Note: Papa, this is the song I emailed you about. :)

Can' t Stop the rain from falling
Each time the sky decides to cry
Can't stop the sun form shining
til the day turns into light

All over the world
They try to steal our joy
But our spirit can't be broken
Every man and woman, girl or boy

Refrain:
Can't stop the joy
Can't stop the reason
Christmas lives inside of us
from season to season

Can't stop the pain
of all the hatred in the world
There'll be no hate; no war
In god we'll trust
And peace on earth
Cause you can't stop Christmas....

There's a feeling we share
Didn't know it
it always was there
For united we will stand
Brother to brother hand in hand

With one song, one dream, one prayer
Let your voice be heard
For his blessings surrounds us
All across the world

Refrain:
Can't stop the joy
Can't stop the reason
Christmas lives inside of us
from season to season

Can't stop the pain
of all the hatred in the world
There'll be no hate; no war
In god we'll trust
And peace on earth
Cause you can't stop Christmas....

Bridge:
Reach out for those in need
For the magic of Christmas
Is to give and to believe!

Christmas Blues

I caught the Christmas blues lately. I don't even know if there is such a thing but if there's a "birthday blues" then there must be Christmas blues. Maybe it's because I miss my parents and we're not going to be together again for the holidays. And there are lot of other things inside my head. Many have pointed out that I think too much, stress too much, and worry over things that don't need to be worried over. But this is me. I'm too emotional sometimes and it just sucks. I wish I were born with a button that I could push when I want my brain to shut down for a while to give me a little down time before it gets running again.

It's just eight days more then it's Christmas day already. I still haven't gone Christmas shopping. Boohoo. But I'm looking forward to the Christmas dinner I'm planning with my high school (Abu Dhabi) friends. I miss them. How odd, I just saw them less than two weeks ago. Ah well. I'm also sad that I missed the Christmas dinner with my college friends. I haven't been going to the dinner get-togethers lately with them that's why I'm really looking forward to hanging out with my UP friends.

Maybe Christmas is the time to be nostalgic. If it happens to normal people, then you probably know that I'm going to be extra nostalgic and emotional because I am a basket case like that. Last night I was watching World's Most Amazing Videos on AXN and you know what? I cried. I cried over a boat exploding and no one even died or got hurt seriously. Advertisements make my lips quiver and movies with sappy storylines make me teary-eyed like that sequel to Dr. Dolittle. I remember one time I got teary-eyed while talking to Mitchie about the documentary on Discovery Channel about the Olympics! Sheesh.

I was probably dropped on the head when I was a baby or my mother watched too many drama movies. I don't know, is there an explanation why a person is too emotional?

On a lighter note, I had a good night's sleep yesterday. Nyum nyum. I think it pays to be tired after a long day because the following days you'll crash onto the pillow and be knocked out in minutes. I was too tired yesterday to even lift a finger. But I'm fine now. Refreshed and ready to face the week. A lot more nostalgic, yes but still happy, nevertheless.

I don't know why but I feel like blurting this out...TO MY FAMILY, MY FRIENDS, AND EVERYBODY ELSE... I LOVE YOU ALL. =)

The Return of the Mad Woman Blogger on Blogspot

It's funny how my name Gail is synonymous to the title The Mad Woman Blogger. Just because I'm online the whole day doesn't mean I'm blogging all the time, you know. But I think I do blog all the time. What am I supposed to do? Talk to myself in the mirror? So what if I like publishing my thoughts online? Does that make me an attention whore? I don't know about that but I just love to write that's all.

So the blogspot is back! Ta-da! I figured since my parents are away and some of my relatives are bloggers themselves, it'll be a good idea to resurrect the public blog so you know, we can comment on each other's posts. Haha! I know, I have really a fun aunt and uncles who are bloggers themselves and since my parents are away too, they'll probably read this blog.

So yehhh, if you took me off your link lists, please put me back. :)

Anyway, this was Saturday night with my best people... my high school friends: Trinoma, Timog for more food and drinks, and then Starbucks. We all coincidentally wore BROWN that night. HOW WEIRD!

It was fun!

I love food and givers of knowledge

May 9 was Arbie's birthday so we celebrated by eating out care of our boss who is at the other side of the world. We had dinner at Polu Kai in Serendra and I finally got to taste Cupcakes by Sonja. Nice mentioned before that I'd like the Bunny Huggers (carrot cake with cream cheese icing on top) and I also picked the chocolate cupcake with green sprinkles on top. I loved the store. It was homey because the interior was decorated in pastel and dinerlike feel. That line from To Kill a Mocking Bird by Harper Lee came into mind-- the part when women were described as cupakes sprinkled with soft confectioner's sugar on top or something like that. Also, if they played the Strawberry Shortcake song in the store it would be very appropriate. Heehee.

This is a blurry photo. Ah well. :)

It was a wonderful night especially when I spent it with friends/workmates and family too. While I was out, a former professor texted to ask how I was doing with jobhunting. After updating him with what's going on careerwise, he reminded me about the self-fulling prophecy in sociolgy-- if you think you're not going to make it, then that is exactly what's going to happen. So I figured I should believe in myself more and stop being pessimistic about things. The prophecy says that if you think you'll make it, the same will happen in reality. So my mood was perked up and I felt happy because former teachers/professors who continue to teach their students even after graduation are blessings to humankind. They guide us and teach us about things that we never would have learned. I am thankful for this professor because he taught me so much and made me not regret my last year in college. I only wish that I can give back to people who have grately influenced me, you know. One day I'll go back to the university and will make professors who believed in my capabilities proud of what I must have become by then.

Even before going to bed I was happy. I have great respect for teachers/professors and people who work with children or students, in general. They sacrifice a lot especially U.P. professors who don't get paid as much as those who teach in private universities but they do it for the passion-- for the passion to serve or give back to their Alma Mater and to pass on their knowledge and intellect to the younger generation.

SALUDO AKO SA INYOOOO! :D AND MARAMING SALAMAT, PROF. PONSARAN.

Anyway, this came into mind too for absolutely no reason at all:

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
(excerpt, Desiderata, Max Ehrmann)

@ Drew's, Febuary 2 with my original college buddies

Everytime I hang out with my original college buddies, I understand what Charlie from The Perks of Being a Wallflower said about feeling "infinite".

Me, Alej, and "Drew" the beanie bear (free from McDonald's for every purchase of a float). I named the bear after Drew's. HAHA!I had to edit this picture because all you can see is the bear. The rest is dark.

we love our straws. HAHA!
thank you, Scelda for emailing the pictures. :)

I'm on a [natural] high

I realize that I am in my better hypnogogic self while caffeine induced. And I am as happy as a bug because my thoughts are shooting here and there inside my head. If only I could do cartwheels I would have done it. Whether it's psychological or it's the endorphin I'm still happyyyyy! :)

Gail's Recipe for Natural High:
1 large cup large coffee (iced/ice-blended/hot)
2 dashes cinnamon powder
2 packets brown sugar
and iPOD Mini (or whatever music player of choice)

Note: Caffeine may come in the form of tea as long as it's not decaf (duh). Peppermint, Lipton regular, or green tea are great variations. Lipton tastes good with a splash of low fat milk and three teaspoonfuls of sugar.

I forgot to buy cinnamon powder at the supermarket today. Papa, ate, and I went to the mall again despite my hatred for the holiday crowd in malls/supermarkets. We went grocery shopping and had lunch at Teriyaki Boy. I finally satisfied my craving for gyoza! Going to Tito Lynn's and Tito Jon's blogs make me crave for FOOD *wails*. Oh, I also found a cute denim skirt at Mango but I don't think I have the heart to spend P4000 on a denim skirt. Maybe if I'm richer by a few thousands or if it goes on sale.

I'm moping a wee bit because my sister went out and she brought my baby iPOD with her. Wahhh! I can go through a day without my celphone but not without my iPOD because music means a lot to me. I know it's annoying whenever I have my earphones cranked up to the highest notch but that's how I feel the music, you know. I don't get why my sister asked for my permission to bring my Mini and not listen when I said she couldn't bring it. Oh well! May it be my Christmas deed for the season-- letting go. Besides, she's getting her own soon and she won't bother me with her ipod borrowing anymore. Okay, I'm greedy. :P

Where are the "chat night" people? I'm referring to my relatives, of course. It's either they finished early or they didn't chat at all. :/

I have a Christmas soundtrack for this year. I've uploaded it on my Multiply. I'll just upload it on Rapidshare so I can share it with you guys. Maybe tonight or tomorrow. :)

Lost awaits! Later, kids!

Beware of the Holiday Rush

I just got home from the nearby mall. OHMYDEARNESS! SAVE YOURSELVES! Don't go to the malls! This evening there were a lot of people! They seem to have a lot of money to spend for the holidays especially the kids! The toy section and baby stuff section were crowded too. Horrible, horrible! I'd avoid the mall for a couple of days at least after the Holidays are over because it's really stressful. Then again, shopping IS shopping.

It's amazing how money seems to flow into the wallet easily during the Holidays. Or may Alej is right. The wallet he gave me is good luck and my old one was jinxed. Papa has been generous lately and not just once but twice! (parang Bear Brand lang!):D Whee! And my boss has been generous too-- granting me a 13th month pay. From my part time job here at home, it's really generous of him to pay me that much. Awesome! So of course when we hit the mall or bazaars, I can't resist from buying stuff. Last week when I met with my Abu Dhabi high school friends at SM MOA, Jane and I splurged on a bag at Terranova because it was on sale (we bought different kinds, of course). It's funny how we were staring at the bags we liked and after contemplating for a good five minutes we set the bags of choice on the counter and let the cashier punch in the codes. HAYAYAY. I shall consider it a Christmas gift for myself. Of course, that AND the new pair of wedges, tweed pants, blouses, newsboy hat, and celphone pouch. Kill me now, I am a slave of petty consumerism.

The get-together with high school classmates was really fun. AS IN REALLY FUN. We see each other a few times a year and the last get-together we had was the most fun.

From my phone:

Photo knicked from Jane. Thanks, dear!

Kirby and Josh joined us too. Also Cara, Darwin's girlfriend and Mark's little brother (he's not so little anymore hehe).

Lastly, look what greeted me when I opened my mail!!!! :D:D:D

A pro account for my Flickr! YEYYY! Thanks, TITO JON! and Tito LYNN Me ♥s YOU guys!!! :)

Speaking of thoughtfulness, these cupcakes are from Sam and Reggie:

Receiving cookies or any baked goodies for Christmas is one of the most thoughtful gestures ever. That's why I wanted to bake brownies this year and give it away but I'm not sure that's going to happen.

These are frosted cupcakes from Sam and Reggie. As a thank you note, I texted Sam and Reggie by saying:

"Thanks for reminding me that Christmas isn't just about the material gifts received. It's also about the food!"

I was joking, of course. I mean, it's half-meant because who could say no to good food especially baked goodies for a sweet tooth like me? But the best part of receiving is the thought that comes with each gift. It doesn't have to be extravagant. As long as the person who receives is happy, then that should be enough. In my case, I was happy because the box of mini cupcakes I received last Saturday was my first Christmas gift for this year. :)

Oh, cupcakes and 13th month pay (even if I'm just partime) made my day. That's more shopping money (for gifts and for self) for me!

I'm tired. I'm going to wrap my father's Christmas gifts to his friends and then I'm hitting the sack. Good night folks! Have a happy Christmas. :)

Happy is me!

GYAAA!!!!!!!! I HAVE DSL AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

I AM HAPPYYYYY!!!!!!!!!! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I found out a while ago while i was surfing the net using PLDT Vibe. The connection was funny and then I got disconnected. When I tried reconnecting I kept getting an error dialog box and I realized that the dial-up emergency connection automatically stops when the DSL is working again. So I set up the router (while praying really hard for the ADSL light to start blinking again) and wheeeeee! I'm on DSL again! :D:D:D

I am a happy penguin! HAHA! I love saying that especially after watching Happy Feet.

I was in bed a few hours ago and I dozed off with menthol balm on both my temples (it relaxes me and helps me sleep, I recently found out). I had a headache again. I think it's because of my watching House for days in a row. I'm on the 2nd season and it's toxic, you see. Like Grey's Anatomy, I dream about the show. With me in it. It's so weird. So with menthol balm on my temples, I put a pillow over my face and fell asleep like that. I woke up to my celphone beeping because Alej texted. So now I'm up because if I slept more I won't be able to sleep later. I'm just waiting for the clock to strike midnight and I'm hopping into bed. Or not since I have DSL again. WAHAHA! :P

I just had leftover chocolate caramel cake and the water I heated has boiled already. I'm going to make myself a nice cup of peppermint tea-- the one that my uncles Tito Lynn and Tito Jon gave me last night. Yes, they're sweet (I'm referring to my uncles). :D

It's organic. It's peppermint. And it's caffeine free. Happy is me! :D

Oh, I'm also on Blogger Beta now. Whee! :D

And it won't hurt to dream about something really big this Christmas aside from a Canon EOS Rebel XTI (350D):

sigh

Yes, it's Scarlett Johansson (sp?) for Louis Vuitton.

Lastly, gifts are welcome here. Nevermind if it's virtual. It's the thought that counts. :D

masarap na kwentuhan

i had such a sweet slumber last night. i've been an owl these past few days sleeping at past 1AM. it's weird how i get really drowsy at around 10 but no matter how half-closed my eyes already are, i'd struggle to be awake to watch the nightly news or blog hop. the other night i was already in bed all comfy under my blankets, my head propped on fluffy pillows when i decided to watch a documentary on tv. the next thing i knew it was already morning when i woke up and the tv was still on.

i spent the entire afternoon chatting with Avi. i was downloading mp3s when i decided to log on just to see if anyone was online. on my MSN IM, only people from Abu Dhabi are there since i only use MSN IM when i used to live there. so practically everyone i know is on my list (and it's already full). i saw Avi online. we weren't friends in Abu Dhabi but we knew each other. i met her when i used to be a member of The Legion of Mary at the local church. we went to different schools in Abu Dhabi so we never got around to get to know each other. but we have a lot of mutual friends so i said hi. that was when everything started. we started chatting as if we knew each other for a long time already. our topics were: love life, boys (of course! haha!), life, GOD, our goals, and death. we're so much alike, i noticed. we're looking for the same things in a guy (nerd daw? haha!), we have same ideals (we want to seize the day) and whole lot more.

the conversation went on for hours and it was freaky. i told her, "man! we're so much a like! it's scary!". no, but actually it is cool. it's a good feeling to meet a friend who thinks so much like you. that's the time when you'd hear yourself say, "hey! i'm not weird and complicated afterall!".

from the outside i may be an ordinary 19 year old. but i'm way more than that. i have goals that may seem unreal for other people. i may sound like a hypocrite when i say that i want to live for others and for GOD, just around 25% for me. i want a lot of things to be realised like after i graduate i want to work for the U.N. or whatever group there is that works for a cause. i want to live my life doing what i love and God knows how much i want him to remind me not to be blinded by salary figures. i told myself that as long as i'd be happy, i'm going to be okay no matter what people would think.

i wonder if people see the real me when they look into my eyes or read what i write. if not, i want them to know that i value life so much that i want to seize every freaking day and live a day without regrets. i talked to Avi about my non-existent love life. she said it's funny how we think about our problems as "the big ones" when in reality, they're not even worthy of being classified as a "problem". i agree. we worry too much about the little things: grades, love life, and other things that we teenagers worry about. when you compare it to the bigger picture like people who worry about how to get through a day with just one meal, how to find a job, or how to feed a large family... you'd realize that you were silly all along.

my ideals, my beliefs, my goals and dreams may clash with other people's perception on life. but this is just me. i get tempted to give so much attention to worldly things too but at the end of the day before i go to bed, i realize my mistake and give myself an imaginary kick on the butt for being shallow.

i can't change the world nor can i change how people think. but it my own little way i can make myself happy, live a meaningful life, at the same time share my happiness and my life with others.

GOD, i do hope i survive this life.

i remember a card a friend gave me in high school. it said:

"With you by my side, I can do anything!"

that goes to God, my family, and friends.

borderline between good and bad day

whoops. look who's home? i chose not to go to the youth camp (this time) because i realized that i've had 3 absences in my spanish class. changed my mind this morning because just one more absence in spanish class and i'm dead meat. plus, i badly wanted to go to the concert. there will be more youth camps so i passed on this one. my 2 bags were packed last night and now they lay untouched on the sofa in the room. ah well. i'll unpack them tomorrow. too tired to do that now.

i just came home from UST. i went to the concert afterall. man, was today such a long day. classes ended at 1pm but apple, van, mitchie, and i killed time at Rob until 5pm. Van's dormates from DLSU came, plus Ais. we were like an inter-scholastic meet! there were representatives from UPM, UST, and DLSU. it was a joke for all of us but it was fun.

all of us, except mitchie, went to the concert at UST. when we got there i had to remind the girls, "hey! blend in!" because we hated it when people stared. for a time we got lost but we tried to make our way around the campus. the College of Fine Arts and Architecture building was beautiful especially at night when the rooms are lit up. of course i saw this from the outside. the whole of UST campus was beautiful too. according to apple and van, "ano? transfer na?". the whole campus had this genuine college feeling to it. i don't know if you get me. the trees, the benches, the wide space with green grass... it was prettyful. add the fountains near the miniature park and you have one homey campus. when you're studying at UPM, you can't help but admire the vast space because at Faura we have such a tiny Oblation Garden. anyway, we hung out by the fountain for a while until we figured out where to go next.

during the concert we got squished, sweated like pigs, and had our energy and hyperness sucked out of our bodies. we were drained after people started being rowdy in the crowd. they were boys who were such rockers that they got so carried away. they pushed the crowd and at one point i got so scared of being squished to death in the dark. i literally couldn't breathe. it was so crowded. how horrible was that? to die such a death is so sad. over-reacting, yes? but if you were there you'd understand why parents get the jitters whenever their kids go to rock concerts. the bands that played were Bamboo, Chicosci, Sponge Cola, Kambyo, and Moonstar 88. i was expecting Southborder in the end but the campus has a curfew, 11pm. so Southborder wasn't there. at some point when we got fed up, my friends and i hung out at the back of the whole lawn. we sat on the cool dew dropped grass just appreciating the crowd along with the sky, which finally cleared and revealed lots of stars at the end of the night.

the whole thing was supposed to be fun but because i got so tired of standing up for hours walking here and there and for the long day... i feel like i can go to sleep and not wake up until nightime tomorrow.

apple's text just a while ago:

haloo...Ü im home na.
salamat 4 d wondrfl/tiring/bitin/bad3p s uste
night wid me.. worth it naman cos
i got to spend it wd all of u guys.. no stir. Ü
gud nyt, mwah!

as Vanessa always puts it, "ganyan talaga magaganda maraming pagsubok." take that from Van! her one-liner always cracks us up!

i agree with apple. it was worth going through all the exhaustion, the feet and leg pains, the profuse sweating, being pushed around, walking around UST trying not to look lost, and all other troubles because i got to hang out with my friends. the friends that i really love being with because they're as crazy, laugh-trip thirsty, fun-loving, spontaneous, and quirky as i am! i love my friends. i wouldn't want them to get hurt in any way and i'd do anything for them as long as i could do something. college life wouldn't be as fun without them around! now i can grow old, look back on my college years, and smile because i know i had a blast and not a day was wasted. i grew, i partied, i had fun, i studied, i learned my lessons well (both in academics and in life), and grew up. no regrets, i'd always tell myself. right now? so far so good! :)

"clean fun"

i'm chatting with Apple at YM. funny girl! we might be going to UST tomorrow. our friend Ais is a math major there (yes! math major! sheesh!) and she invited us to a concert. Bamboo, Southborder, and Sugarfree are going to be there among others. we'd be dismissed at 1pm tomorrow since our last prof for the day wouldn't be meeting us. i told Apple we could go home first then back to UST in the evening for the concert. man, i so want to go!

i've always been the person who you could drag along anywhere as long as i'm into whatever gimmick there is. i'm always game. my parents let me go because they trust me. i haven't done anything stupid and out of their rule book so far and i'm so thankful for that because i get to enjoy my life being young. i know my limits and i know how to distinguish what's wrong from right. so to my folks, thanks for trusting me! i won't let you down (like Rexona hahaha!). i see myself as a cross breed between being a goody-two-shoes and an extrovert nineteen year old. so it's basically 50-50 of both. works for me and it obviously works for my parents too! no matter how i rack my memory for an instance when i got my parents angry/disappointed... i can't come up wtih anything (except for petty disappointments like not cleaning my closet & arguing with my sister hehe) :D hurray for me! i wouldn't have the heart to break their hearts anyhow. i love them too much. word of advice from my father every time i tell him i'm going out? "have clean fun!", he'd always say ;) but when i parents say NO, they really mean it so i just take it in no matter how disappointing. like last New Year's day when apple and the rest of the cavite people asked me to go to Enchanted Kingdom with them. my mother didn't want me to go no matter how i pleaded.

the YFC 3-day camp will be at Antipolo. i won't know anyone there, just Den Den, my former blockmate. it's a great chance to meet new friends and grow spiritually so i'm really looking forward to that. people from other schools will be there so if you're YFC too, i'll see you there! haha, whoever you are. man, i so wanted to do this in freshman year but i never got the chance to go for it. i always pull out. so i'm doing this because after i graduate i might have regrets and when i'm already working i won't have any chance to do these things. college only happens once! i'm beginning to like junior year a lot.

school got suspended today because of the strike of transportation groups. imagine me waking up groggily to "hey! walang pasok!" (no classes!) so i'm one lucky duck. but tonight i have to study for a quiz tomorrow.

again, i so want to go to the UST concert.

my cellphone is lonely

isn't it sad? no one texted the whole day. not even a "hey! deadline this week!" or "hey, what's up?". sometimes i feel like people think i'm dead already. it feels good to be remembered once in a while, you know. haha. drama.

ordinary school day...

yesterday was much fun. spent the entire day with the usual people i hang out with: van, pie, apple, and mitchie. plus paolo, our unico hijo (only guy). i also brought my camera along and we went click happy while hanging out at the cafeteria. since last semester, we've been regulars there hanging out under the bright nescafe umbrellas. now with vacancy in our scehdules, we have more time to just sit there and watch people go about their businesses. there was a rally yesterday. some people excused us from history class but since sir atoy wasn't around and we weren't sure if we were going to be excused, we decided to attend class anyway. good news was that the quiz was postponed to friday. that'll buy me more time to study.

after school my sister texted me. she asked if i wanted to go to Taco Bell at Gateway. i said yes right away. who could say no to burritos for dinner? Gateway mall looks pretty good although it's still in the works. i hope Taco Bell opens elsewhere too and put out more branches. loved the burritos and nachos. i love the cheese dip :9 in the afternoon did org work with apple and the rest. we talked to the managers of McDonald's and Popeye's at Rob. the two managers from Popeye's asked if they could be toured at the campus grounds. so i was pseudo tour guide from an hour until i saw raymond and introduced him to the two managers. i like doing P.R. work, i swear :)

wednesday. no classes. it's sad, didn't get anything done. i can sometimes be hit by a pang of laziness and i loathe that about me. i'm going to get a little work done before i go to bed (and after C.S.I. which i'm watching right now...).
