Chinita LCA with a CS Flash attached, likes taking photos of people.

I love random photos. Just point and click the shutter and wham. You get random photos. I like how random these photos are. Captions to be added later. I'm too lazy. =)

Or maybe sometimes pictures are enough and no words are needed.

oh life

I had a shitty day and it's funny how it had to happen during the end of the day. It's amazing how one thing can ruin the whole 24-hours of your whole day. But oh well. What is life without a little drama once in a while?

But the upper was that I was able to chat with Papa after a long while. Heeh. :) I'm always not home in the evenings so yeah, it was okay.

As I speak, Kuya John and my sister are having a difficult time shooing away canine intruders in the property. We don't know how the hell four dogs were able to open our gates but they're here and one of them is ready to charge Kuya John because he tried to shoo them away. So now they're trying to figure out how my sister's fiance can get to his car without being bitten by the fierce dog who came to visit Doods, our apparently hearthrob mongrel. Ate wants me to watch it because she said "it's exciting" but now they come back inside the house and they're no longer as brave as they were minutes ago. "Galit talaga!", she said. HAHA! Oh dearness. What to do now! I'm scared of rabies. These are mongrels, for crying out loud! I'll write a progress report on this lateron.

Anyway, onto photos...these are from my Chinita LCA who is my new best friend and she is named Ella. She goes with me everywhere I go.

light fixtures on the ceiling of a Shell Select on North Luzon Expressway. This was en route to Cagayan. We stopped for a 4AM breakfast of hotdogs, Cinnabons, coffee, and juice.

Along Macapagal Avenue at Tuguegarao City. Across the street of this field of greens was a big watermelon stand. Too bad I wasn't able to take photos of the watermelon. The heat of the sun scared me so I stayed inside the car in the comfort of airconditioning.

I forgot where this picture was taken but I love photos of trees against a backdrop sky. So this was a random shot because I just thought the twigs look pretty.

I LOVE TREES. 'Nuf said.

notes from a sleepyhead (without caffeine)

I should get back to drinking cranberry juice like a fish because my left kidney is hurting again. I Googled why cranberry is good for the kidney and found out that it has natural antibiotics that can literally flush away toxins. Isn't nature generous for providing natural antibiotics?

Anyway, I realized yesterday that I cannot function without caffeine during the day. Coffee, in particular. I always start my day with boiling or microvwaving a mug of coffee. But yesterday I left the house before doing that because I ran errands with Alej and then caught a movie. Without coffee. I've never been that sleepy in a long long time, not if you want to count the times I took medication that can cause drowsiness. So yesterday I was so sleepy that I wanted to crawl instead of walk. All I wanted to do was to curl under my blanket and hibernate but I couldn't so I downed a large cup of iced Coke. It did work, alright. But Meet the Spartans made me sleepy again. Not recommended.

It's either the lack of caffeine that made me drowsey or high blood sugar. I don't know which of the two. The blood sugar monitor thing that my mother left me is still unused because I don't know how to reset the thing. I must ask for help. Or Google. That's what I usually do when I can't find user manuals or when tinkering with the thing proves to be a failure (which happens everytime).

Going back to cranberry juice. I wonder if a combination of raspberry-cranberry is effective as just drinking cranberry alone?

Tourist in Cagayan

The trip to Tuguegarao City took us 11 hours from Manila and 11 hours back again. It was LOOOOOOOONG trip and I was more tired from the trip back home. But I had so much fun during my three days of stay. It was my second time there. Alej and his family invited me to go to the province with them because it was their lolo's first death anniversary. It's true that the hottest place in the Philippines is Tuguegarao City because it is nearest the equator. IT WAS SCORCHING HOT. I knew right then that it was already summer.

I had a great time because Alej's whole family is very warm and they made me feel welcome. They even brought me to Callao Cave so that I can see the tourist attraction of Cagayan, which I truly enjoyed. I ate so much too during the time I was there. The food was always good and it's hard to say no if there's so much yummy food. Why is it that it's so good to eat whenever you're in the province? No fast food but just good ol' healthy food like fish and vegetables. YUMMMMYYY.

A mass and banquet was also held in memory of Alej's grandfather. All in all, my stay in the province was FUN and definitely worth the long ride. =)

Callao Cave, Penafrancia, Cagayan
I was warned beforehand that it was going to be tiring-- climbing up a flight of stairs to the cave, which has several chambers inside. That's how huge Callao Cave is. So I braced myself. But lo and behold! After climbing the flight of stairs, I thought to myself, "This is it?". I was expecting the climb to be rigorous. Maybe this was because the trek to the Subterranean River in Palawan was just that-- RIGOROUS. There was no TREK at all (it was being developed during the time) so we had to rely on the trusty "kuya" who served as our guide as we braved the jungles of two mountains, climbing up and down and hanging from roots of trees to prevent us from sliding down steep slopes. It was crazy, that climb. It took us two hours to get to the cave and two more hours to get back to Sabang Beach where our van was parked. There was a typhoon then so no boats were crazy enough to brave the ferocious South China Sea waves.

So this is Callao Cave. It is beautiful inside and I think it's amazing how such a natural wonder even exists. It's a humongous cave with chambers in it. It also has a chapel inside that's so serene that you could just sit there for hours and enjoy the silence inside the cave.

Here are photos by Alej from his awesome new toy, Nikon D60.
