Southborder rocked my socks off

i almost didn't go tonight just because i didn't feel like going out. then i gave it a lot of thinking because it was Southborder, one of my favorite local bands. one of the probable reasons that i didn't want to go was that i wanted Luke to be in the band then he left. i remember some time in freshman year i was supposed to go see them in concert at UST. a few weeks later Luke walked out of the band and i tortured myself (mentally) for not being there at their (last?) concert at the UST campus.

boy, am i glad i went tonight! the music was awesome. they played all the songs that i liked especially Boyz II Men songs like I'll Make Love To You and End of the Road. they sang a lot of r&b songs too and the crowd at Aruba just went wild right then and there! everyone loved the band :) i love them too! especially Duncan!!! haha! he was so cute and they all can really sing :) they played Rainbow too! i thought it was going to be just ordinary but the song was even better because they played it live and the people just sang along with them which set me on a high. really. i'm still high right now. who wouldn't be? when there's great music, good company, and the right people, everything falls right into place Ü too bad this night had to end. if i had the power to do so, i would've captured this night and put it in a bottle so that when i'm sad, i can always go back to when i was on a high and nothing else mattered in the world. just me and great music :)

i'm too hyper and happy to go to bed when i got home so i posted these pictures right away :) i want to watch another gig of theirs, or a major concert. ay! Southborder totally rocked my friday night :)

yes, gail is still alive

hey. haven't been updating lately because i was busy going out. besides, i was at antipolo for two days at my friend Scelda's place :) twas fun. we hung out and it was supposed to be an overnight thingy but then they urged me to stay a day longer and i ended up sleeping over for 2 nights :) i had fun. sobra. too bad my digicam was left at home because my sister borrowed it. eastwood coming up this weekend. i hope it pushes through. i want to kick back and relax before classes start on the 7th. i can't believe that it's enrollment on the 28th already. i want to take more time off school. then again, i have been quite productive this summer vacation so i should stop complaining.

i want to go shopping. i want to download music videos, mp3s. i want to finish Harry Potter book 4 because until now i haven't finished half of the book when it has been with me for around 2 years now! oh well.

my sister officially starts school today. boo for her. haha :) okay bye!

math exam and lunch

i studied last night like there's no tomorrow for my math exam until 2 AM in the morning. i wasn't going to sleep but the caffeine in the coffee did not take its usual effect on me. at 2 AM i finally called it a night despite how insecure i was that i could pass this 3rd departmental exam. i hate it when i set the alarm clock to 5:30 or some other time and end up extending my sleep. who could blame me? the weather was fine today and the air con made sleeping more pleasureable! anyway, i did wake up at around 6ish and started studying again. then after an hour i fell on the sleep on the couch. coolio.

traffic was horrible this morning! there was a detour so i ran late for my math exam! 30 minutes late! i wanted to cry on the way because i was hoping for the worst but then my professor was really nice about it. besides, i wasn't alone. others came later than i did!

i think i did fairly well in the exam. the problem solving was pretty easy and i think i got them right but then again, the results will speak for themselves. so after the exam i headed straight home. no wait. i did stop by the mall to... *drum roll please* YOSHINOYA!! haha! i love their beef bowls! i got take out from Yoshinoya and this was lunch when i got home...

Bridget Jones's Diary is one of my top 10 favorite movies and i saw this at the National Bookstore window. despite my urge so save, i ended up buying it anyway. so yay! this is the sequel to the first book :) Jones is now living in with Mark Darcy. :)

on dieting... er, eating healthy

i'm trying to cut sugar and carbohydrates to start eating healthy (haha!) but today my lola invited us to her house for my lolo's birthday. i only had pasta, though. i was still full because i had a 4PM late lunch. the cake was yummy though! it's mango and cream from Red Ribbon. *sigh*

...and i thought i'd lose weight this summer. fat. chance.

shopping adventure/misadventure of Gail at RP

i went shopping alone again today because my professor in math decided not to come to class. i bought an Emily the Strange tote bag (thanks monette!) and another Emily baby tee but this time it's in blue and because i did not try it on while i was at the store, i just found out that size L is too LARGE for me. good thing the guy at the store was really friendly. i asked if i could trade it with a smaller size if ever it doesn't fit and he said i could exchange it.

then i went around some more but i had to hurry because it was almost 12 and i had class. when i got there, though... the professor wasn't there. my classmates told me that there wasn't go to be a class so i went back to the mall and went around shops. i got 3 shirts again yay!

the funniest thing happened while i was at Her Bench. i wanted to try a shirt on so i went to the fitting room. i didn't notice that the lock was broken so i went ahead and closed the door, even forcing it to close. i slammed it a little and went ahead doing my business. then when i was about to get out the door won't bulge and i was like, "oh shit. i'm locked." then crazy thoughts kept going through my mind like if i should crawl to the other fitting room or should i crawl out back to civilization. then i realized how silly i would look. then i heard a man (he's homosexual) at the other side of the fitting room right next to mine and i called out to him because i was desperate. he was nice enough to ask his boyfriend to open the door for me because i was locked inside. then his boyfriend asked me to move away from the door because he was going to whack it really hard. then finally it opened! haha! it was so scary and funny and embarassing at the same time. too bad i didn't get their names. i owe my dignity to them! lucky me, i walked out of the store with my poise intact.

then on the way home it rained heavily. it was such a gloomy day outside when i went outside RP. i like rainy days, though so i appreciated the drizzle and cool air. i had to take a cab on my way home because i hate commuting in the rain.

my sister bought me lunch from Jamaican Pattie and now i'm going to head off to take nap because i think i'm going to pull off an all-nighter. math exam tomorrow.

i'm out!

Life is what you make it

my philosophy in life is:

"Life is what you make it." i'm quoting it because i don't know who actually said it but yes, it is definitely true. however, when i started working on this lay-out this afternoon i wasn't planning to have a particular design. i just started working on the main graphic and that liner just popped out of nowhere. after the graphic was done, i started to stare at the miniature pictures and actually felt overjoyed thinking of how much memories i have captured and each memory has its own story to tell from my 18th birthday, roadtrips, ordinary days, to memorable events. it was so much fun copying and pasting pictures to create this grungey collage.

i like the grunge look nowadays. i guess i'm way past pastel lay-outs/graphic designs. even my clothes. i don't like seeing pink anymore.

i think i'm going to add a few more links in the future (soon) when i can cook up creative write-ups or whatever i could think of. for now, it's just a journal and some links that links to pictures.

Jannica's Debut and old high school friends

Jaic's debut was so much fun. i'm glad i went because i almost did not go.

it was nice seeing old senior year high school friends again. for a time i forgot how crazy these girls were but i truely, genuinely, enjoy their company every time we hang out. yesterday was different, though. clad in our evening gowns with gunk on our faces they call "make-up" and our hair in the perfect places, we were poised for a time but when all hell broke lose, we became our rowdy selves.

i was a part of the 18 treasures. i walked cautiously across the parquet floor to the front of the dance floor to present my gift. i had a hard time focusing on my walking because i was so scared of slipping and falling flat on my face which almost happened last month in the same place! i had to grab onto the table cloth on the cake table and nearly ruined the cake. the crowd was silent after that. i would've felt better if they laughed but nooo... they gave me sympathetic looks. after that i wanted the floor to open up and swallow me whole because of mortification.

but last night was different. everything went smoothly and i'm glad my clumsy self decided to take the night off. i almost spilled iced tea on the table, though. does that count?

the dancing was fun! i wanted to just sit back and watch everyone groove (hehe) but then my girl friends started urging me to dance by dragging me to the dance floor. i did oblige and i had a great time and did not regret joining them :) all that dancing was exhilirating and fun fun fun.

i am definitely going to see these girls again before school starts again. i've missed them! good thing we took a lot of pictures to remember the night by.

HERE YOU GO, PICTURES!

Eastwood and Troy

i went to Eastwood last night with my sister, her boyfriend, and moses. we had dinner first at some cheap restaurant but their food is really good! you can ask around people to confirm it! Aysee's serve the best sizzling chicken and sizzling sisig in town! it's near Valle Verde, near Ultra too. so anyway, we had dinner there then went to Eastwood for dessert. i had apple pie ala mode from Jack's Loft. i am so hooked on their apple pie. it's so delicious! oh, and we also saw John Pratts, another celebrity girl who was holding hands with John Pratts, and one of the Jaboom twins. John Pratts was hot, alright but he lacked height :( the other twin was hot herself. i thought she looked chubby on tv but she's really thin pala and she's really pretty.

so anyway, after dessert we looked around the tiangge where i got a pair of star earrings and a purple reversible bag. it's really cute. then we watched Troy which is by far the best movie i have ever seen so far!!! the guys were hot hot hot! i liked Eric Bana the most :) next is Orlando Bloom. i don't like Brad Pitt. he has the body but i'm not attracted to him. the story was very well enacted and the effects and the scenes were so spectacular. the movie is brilliant! go watch it if you have time :) i strongly recommend it. be warned that it's a long movie, though. however, i assure you that it's not boring :)

shopping alone at RP

hay. i'm tired. traffic on the way home was horrible because of a fire at the Quiapo area.

anyway, after school i went shopping. alone. i think shopping alone is better than having people with you. for me, at least it's much more convenient. why? because no one will bother you or urge you to hurry up while you look around for things (especially clothes!). no one will pester or drag you to go around shops that you don't want to go to. shopping alone makes you fully in-charge of your shopping and you can go to any shop you want and browse as long as you want to :) isn't that quite neat?

so yes, i enjoyed my time alone very much. i got 3 blouses :) one red one from Kamiseta and 2 from Genevieve Gozum for great deals because RP (Robinson's Place) is on sale! too bad i only had 800 bucks with me. otherwise i would have gone gaga on clothes :(

a night of acoustic music at Aruba

the gig last night was really brilliant! performing artists at Aruba, Libis were Thor (a local r&b group), MYMP (local group), and Nyoy Volante with Mannos. they were all brilliant! MYMP rocked, Thor too! and how can i forget? Nyoy rocked the house! haha :)

so there. i'll go shower now. i'm frickin's sleepy :)

back from the mountains

guess where i was at during the long weekend? :)

so yeah. i did have fun :) at the moment i have just transferred 359 pictures from my 252 MB digicam flash card. sah-weet! :) i have so many pictures that i don't know how i am going to be able to edit them because if i won't edit them they're too large.

good news is that Blogger has a spanking new look and features! yayness! :)

i'm moody right now. i hate the world today. i don't want to talk to anyone.

maybe i'll just go sleep this off and i just might wake up on the right side of the bed.
