i'm alive. ho-hum.

long time no write! my laptop's adaptor/battery charger just stopped working so i'm waiting for the people at the service center to replace it. according to them, 2 weeks tops because it's going to be shipped all the way from singapore. so i had to reformat the two PCs and get them up and running again because i need a computer to work with. then i discovered that this PC does not have a LAN card so i can't use DSL here. i had to buy a prepaid card so that i can at least use dial-up internet while i'm waiting for the adaptor to arrive.

i haven't been updating lately because i've lost the urge to write and/or i had other things to do.

i saw Superman Returns yesterday. i wanted to watch it on 3D at the iMax theater but figured that it's going to be booked until next week so when alej said we'll watch with his uncle, sister, and nana, i gladly went. we had seats reserved a day before and the only seats available were for the last full show at greenbelt. watch the movie in a THX theater because it's way better with awesome surround sound! and i loved the movie even if computer-generated effects were obvious. who cares? the movie still rocks!

i'm also back to reading. i finished Jude Deveraux's Summerhouse and then there's Wally Lamb's She's Come Undone. i finally went to the Books for Less near my place. i love how that place smells. it smelled of used books (the good kind), airconditioned air, and it relaxes me. they also have these tables so that you can browse the books there. the only thing missing is a small coffee corner and maybe small couches too.

i'm bored. and i'm out of here.

shallow? yes, i am.

i have plummeted deeper into Veronica Mars fandom. i'm downloading songs from its soundtrack and i'm also madly in love and lust with Logan Echolls's SUV-- the yellow Nissan Xterra. i haven't felt this crazy over a car since childhood when i went crazy over the Isuzu Trooper. Nissan Xterra now tops my list proceeded by the Nissan Patrol. i've always been a fan of big cars-- the SUVs and pick-ups. The yellow Xterra Logan Echolls drives in VM is the exact same kind i want. *dies*

the soundtrack of VM is so cool! just in time for my music fix. i want to listen to something new. props to Niki for ranting about The Fray. i love their songs especially How to Save a Life.

To conclude this post:
  • Dandy Warhols is love.

  • The Fray is love.

  • Veronica Mars is love.

  • Logan + his Nissan Xterra = LOVE

  • VM soundtrack is love

slow saturday

bea, chezka, and i went to 168 Shopping Mall the other day after that second trip to the Manila City Hall to get a letter approved. the lady (a city hall official) almost bit our heads off making all sorts of complaints about our letter. i don't know what's up with the steam she was emitting but it was bad. she's arrogant and i don't like her at all. so when she said her office was busy and couldn't entertain us for a couple of days or so, the three of us left the office . then her secretary came jogging after us and said they'd fix the letter and that we should wait in the office. hay. we were a bit angry after that because the the city hall official was still mean and then she left the office with our letter unsigned because of a meeting with the mayor. oh well!

i got the second season of Veronica Mars. yahooo! i can't stop watching now and my eyes are tired already. rob thomas, the writers, the actors, and the rest of the cast are all geniuses for a kick-ass series. i love Veronica Mars. it's really catchy. once you watch, you can't stop! i remember watching the pilot episode of VM last year. after that first episode of the first season i knew i was already hooked and that i'd love this show. oh, and i &hearts Logan Echolls more than Duncan. sure, Duncan is hot and cute but Logan is cuter because of his funny/arrogant antics and retorts. he's a bad boy but in an adorable kind of way. i wonder if he'd get back with Veronica or if Veronica is going to stick with Duncan. oh well! :P just sharing.

i also already watched The Lake House and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift all in one day yesterday! for the former movie, we had to watch it in Dolby Surround so we went all the way from Robinson's Place to Shangri La. both movies, i liked. although there are loopholes in The Lake House. i won't tell what they are because some of you might want to watch it and i don't really want to spoil the movie for you. you'll be the judge of that. Tokyo Drift was fun to watch. awesome, actually. HAH! i want to go to Japan, seriously. and maybe even study the language (not writing, though).

my throat still hurts and i still have dry cough. tra-la-la. i think now is the best time to be my normal properly medicated self but i can't seem to find the urge to take medication for the cough. i keep thinking that it would just go away. it has been one week and the throat is just getting itchier by the day! maybe hot tea will help.

i'm sleepy, i'm going now. nothing much to say but in a few months i'm going to be a lost little girl. er, who am i kidding? i've always been lost. let me rephrase: i'm going to be MORE lost. my clipped wings will soon be off and i'm wondering if i've already learned how to fly.

mitchie girl: i miss you lots too!

oh happy day! (haha! too much Sister Act!)

i had such a great weekend! my skin tone will tell you that much and my sore throat too. i don't know if it's the fruit of my fun weekend at Subic because i had a great time. everyone was so nice and warm and happy. i felt welcome-- that's the most important part. at the beach, alej and i went kayaking for the first time. funny how i wasn't scared when i should be. i wish i had the guts to swim to the deeper part of the water. maybe it isn't too late to take up swimming. it's not cool to snorkel at the beach where we went because there aren't too many sea creatures down there. but i had fun, nevertheless.

i can't use my concealer or the bottle of foundation that i feel like applying to my face when i want to hide hideous blemishes because my skin is too dark now. they're the only form of make-up i can put on my face because i feel awkward wearing make-up on ordinary days. the closest thing to being kikay for me is having baby cologne, baby powder, wet wipies, a pack of tissue, and a combe. oh wait, there's lip n' cheek tint but that's only when i FEEL like it.

over the weekend, Tal had her second child too! his name is Johance Hayden. what a cool name! college friends and i went to see her the past monday. Gab, her first born, is almost two years old and he's very funny and hyper! i can see a star in that little boy because he likes to perform in front of an audience! WOW! :) after visiting Tal we (pao, bea, and apple) went to Megamall because we were SOOOO hungry. we ate at Shakey's and talked my friends into seeing each other for lunch twice a month. Bea insists that we shouldn't eat in fastfood chains because it's a once in a awhile get-together. so we agreed on fine dining. yeyy! :) i figured it would help us keep the friendship intact, you know? all of us are moving on with our lives and getting older. and then there's the beach strip in september and the newest plan-- Hong Kong Disneyland! seriously, we're thinking of saving at least 25k for the trip because it's a package deal. another YEY! after lunch we went to the Apple Store. i finally got a new pair of earphones! there are no more Apple In-Ear earphones so i got the Sennheiser ones even if they're black. the sound quality is awesome.

so yeah. friends make me really happy. and plans that i'm not sure we'll be able to keep up with but i'm sure there are ways.

yesterday it was dinner with Alej and his family. cross-over buffet. i wanted to barf after but the kani bacon was too yummy and fatty to pass. i can't believe they ran out of Mediterranean cake at Dad's. and i can't believe i ate that much. *barf*

i have a feeling that this will be a good year. bring it on, world! :P

this is random

for the rest of the weekend, i will be at Subic with my boyfriend and the rest of his clan. yes, we are 50+ in the trip. wow, they have a big family (O_o)! and i don't really know what to expect. they've been really nice and warm and all that. no need to be afraid, i guess. HAHA! i think i'm the only non-family member. oh well!

so in preparation for the trip, i finished everything i had to do today like things for work. it's so unlike me to do things in advance or submit things that need to be submitted before the deadline. i'm a procrastinator and it's only now that i realized how wonderful it feels to actually accomplish things ahead of time. this means that while i'm baking my skin to a crisp and getting my complexion darker than it already is after that batangas beach trip, i won't have to worry about work waiting for me at home.

i'm so groggy right now because i took a nap in the afternoon and woke up at 6ish. from 6 onwards while working, i was really sleepy. thanks to my trusty 5-year old scientific calculator and my half-dead brain, i seem to have done things correctly *fingers crossed*.

maybe i should go to bed. Zzzz...

good friends, good times

last week (or was it the week before that?) my college friends and i went to Crame to visit Tal who's having a baby in mid june. wheeee! the second baby of the block! we played with Gab and ate pizza! of course, there should be food whenever we hang out. and then we went to greenbelt for Sir Roli's Bollywood dinner. the funniest thing happened on the way to bollywood. i was walking along the drainage railings at glorietta 4. actually, i was tromping with the song "i wanna be a supermodel" inside my head. and lo and behold! it was no surprise that i had another bridget jones moment! one of the straps of my flip flop snapped when it got stuck in one of those metal things. it was hilarious! i didn't know what to say to the others because i was too embarassed! HAHA! minutes later we found ourselves rummaging through stores looking for a decent pair of flip flops that can replace my not-so old ones.

the food was great, the ambience was the BEST, and the company was the BESTEST. HAHA! ang labo. but yeah, i had fun. thanks to sir roli!!!

of course, we took pictures! these are from bea's cam. i just brought out the colors with photoshop.

oh wow. i'm speechless.

yesterday en route to La Luz, a hummer and his entourage (escorts and all)passed us by in a main road in Lipa City, Batangas. we talked about how hummers are just service cars for CSI Miami (the tv show, of course) and how cool it would be to road trip with one. i even joked that it might be vilma santos inside!

and then today alej texts me that the hummer was the governor's car. it exploded last night.

ohmyohmy.

who would've thought that angas car would explode when we saw it that afternoon? and that someone in it would die? the governor's bodyguard and driver did. :(
